Following feedback received from some parents on the Neonatal unit at MKUH.
The unit contacted us to see if we could purchase washing-up bowls for supporting families with Breastfeeding. Last week we delivered 50 bowls in multiple colours.
Paulette, the breastfeeding lead has said "I would like at this moment to thank Katie for all that she does to support our Unit and our families through her charity. "
She continues "We have decided to fill up the bowls with all things feeding. We will be launching them starting from the 1st of August to kick off the World Breastfeeding Week. They are ready to be given out to families on admission. Currently we have the following contents in the bowl :
a) An expressing pack including colostrum information
b) x2 expressing kits -size 24mm
c) UNICEF breastfeeding assessment tool
d) UNICEF Building a Happy Baby leaflet
e) x2 bottles
f) a knitted breast (please take back the knitted breast once you have shown mothers and recorded in “My Breastmilk Expressing Booklet”, how to hand express.
We will be adding bottle brushes to the bowls!"
We are really pleased to be able to support the neonatal unit with this new project & think these will be really beneficial for families.
